Who this covers
This policy applies to the SnipText apps published by Pierre-Henry Soria — Text Replacement Everywhere for iPhone and iPad, and Universal Text Replacement for Mac (together, “SnipText”, “the app”, “we”, “us”).
Data we collect
None. We do not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share any personal information. SnipText contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking identifiers, and no third-party SDKs.
Your snippets and settings
- The snippets, shortcuts and preferences you create are stored on your device.
- If you are signed in to iCloud, they sync between your own Apple devices through your private iCloud key-value store, using Apple’s iCloud service. This data is controlled by you and your Apple Account — we never see it and have no server that receives it.
- Apple’s handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
The keyboard and system-wide expansion
The SnipText keyboard (iOS) and the system-wide expansion engine (Mac) match the text you type against your own shortcuts entirely on your device to decide when to expand a snippet. Keystrokes are never logged, stored, or sent anywhere. On iOS this requires enabling “Allow Full Access,” which lets the keyboard read your snippet library from your private iCloud store; it is not used to transmit anything. On macOS, expansion automatically pauses inside secure password fields.
Permissions we request
- iCloud — to sync your snippets across your own devices. Optional; the app works fully offline without it.
- Keyboard Full Access (iOS) — so the keyboard can read your snippet library. No data leaves the device.
- Accessibility (macOS) — so the app can type expansions on your behalf in other apps. Processing is local only.
Children
SnipText does not collect data from anyone, including children. It is rated suitable for all ages.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “last updated” date. Because we collect no data, we cannot notify you directly — please check back here.
